Generally considered the best of the best single vineyard Pinots from Sineann, this new Resonance is—to quote the late, great Robert Palmer—simply irresistible. Fresh fruit flavors of strawberry, raspberry, sweet cherry and more roll into a lingering aftermath with nuances of cinnamon, cola, chocolate, nougat, coconut and caramel. None of this is overwhelming; the fruit rules. But the finesse and length, which sneaks up on you, are impressive.——P.G.(8/1/2011)—— 94

The 2008 Pinot Noir Resonance Vineyard is a firm, tannic effort that has plenty of savory black fruits, good acidity, and medium- to full-body. This muscular, brawny offering will evolve for several years and will be at its best from 2013 to 2023. Owner/winemaker Peter Rosback presides at Sineann. His first vintage was 1995 and current production stands at 13,000 cases of vineyard designated wines from a range of AVAs. The current 2008 Pinot Noir releases are a paradox. The regular cuvees out-performed the two Reserve wines which were tannic and out-of-balance. The 2008 Pinot Noir Schindler Reserve and 2008 Pinot Noir Resonance Vineyard Reserve were both unusually tannic and out- of balance and could not be recommended.Tel. (503) 341-2698; www.sineann.com
