This 2021 Chardonnay is salty and fine, with layers of curry leaf and white peach, lemongrass and red apple skins. The phenolics have a little grip and tang through the finish, but it only adds to the excitement. Nicely done.

Delicate hints of pencil shavings and toasted almond slivers accent white peach and pineapple fruit on the nose of Sidewood's 2020 Chardonnay. On the palate, it's plump and medium-bodied, generous but reined in by the crisp acids that mark the long finish, making it a fine, food-friendly wine for relatively near-term consumption.

Entirely barrel fermented and aged in French oak for 10 months, the 2019 Chardonnay is a solid example of what the Adelaide Hills can deliver, boasting scents of pineapple crème br?lée, melon and citrus. Medium-bodied and nicely balanced between generosity and crispness, it's a user-friendly, mouthwatering wine for drinking over the next few years.

Toasted almond, vanilla, pear and citrus all come together on the nose of the Sidewood 2015 Chardonnay. It's a medium-bodied wine, partially barrel-fermented, with crisp acids and just enough fat to give it heft in the mouth but not enough to clog your arteries. The finish is more about the citrusy fruit than the oak, giving a refreshing lift. Drink it over the next 12-18 months.

The 2013 Chardonnay has a toasty nose with cashew, honeyed peaches and melon notes. The medium-bodied palate is a little dilute and clipped on the ending, but still has nice purity and freshness.
