The Schwarzbock 2007 Riesling Aichleiten features bright citrus, tart cassis, and a musky, alluringly mysterious animality. Oily in texture and dense, yet persistently bright, its pungent flavors are – like those of many a 2007 vintage Riesling – somewhat reminiscent of Muskateller. Highly efficacious, tingling in its tartness, yet not unripe acids lend verve to the finish of this wine sure to delight for at least 2-3 years. Anita and Rudi Schwarzbock are among the numerous rising talents of the huge Weinviertel, farming nearby vineyards in Vienna as well.
