The San Quirico 2019 Vernaccia di San Gimignano (made with organically farmed fruit) shows an ever-so-slightly cloudy appearance and delivers veiled aromas of ripe fruit, melon and peach. The wine lacks specifics, presenting a general or broad-brush bouquet with some dried apple skin and bitter almond. The wine lacks focus, and you do feel that 13.5% alcohol. Some 14,000 bottles were produced.

Luminous and bright, the 2014 Vernaccia di San Gimignano (100% Vernaccia) opens to pretty mineral notes with soft background notes of peach, melon and spring flower. The wine boasts pretty mineral definition. It adds fullness and structure at the back. This Vernaccia would pair nicely with vegetable tempura or fried calamari rings. The wine is aged in cement tanks.
