The 2010 Garnacha Special Selection (100%) spent 4 months in French and American barriques. It sports an expressive nose of lavender, cinnamon, and black cherry leading to a tasty, friendly, mouth-filling wine that offers excellent value in a wine meant for drinking over the next 3-4 years.
Bodega San Jose de Aguaron is a large cooperative in the DO of Carinena that controls approximately 1200 hectares with 60% of the vines consisting of Garnacha, 70% of them over 50 years of age. All of their Carinena holdings are bush vines over 45 years of age. Its main brand is labeled Monasterio de las Vinas.
