The 1995 Sauvignon Blanc Reserve is a barrel-fermented Sauvignon that has benefitted from a partial malolactic fermentation. The judicious use of 20% new oak casks has given the wine definition and structure. The result is a crisp, lemony, fig, slightly spicy, fruity style of Sauvignon with a lush texture, medium body, and good depth and presence on the palate. The inclusion of a tiny percentage of Malvasia Bianca in the blend has helped produce a wine with an intense fragrance. The Robert Pepi winery is another moderately-sized winery under the ownership of the Jess Jackson group known as Artisans and Estates. Of all the wineries under that umbrella organization, Robert Pepi is the only one largely dedicated to producing Italian-inspired wines. The exception is their Sauvignon Blanc. Tel.
