The 1996 Sauvignon Blanc Reserve is a muscular wine with considerable power, but not as much varietal character as I would expect. Perhaps the torridly hot temperatures and short growing season in 1996 burned out some of Sauvignon's intrinsic personality in this medium-bodied, tasty, heady (14.2% alcohol) wine.
