The 2018 Finisterre McLaren Vale Shiraz is spicy, full and a little meaty but typical of McLaren Vale. In terms of density of flavor, the Signature Series Shiraz has more plushness of flavor (there just seems "more" of it), but perhaps this is due to the presence of winemaking in the Finisterre, which elevates its complexity. It offers blueberry coulis, some raspberry lolly, layers of silty black tannin and some licorice. The oak is evident in the texture but not in the flavor, and overall, the wine achieves some balance in this way. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
