Biale also produces some full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal Petite Sirahs. There are 200 cases of the 2005 Petite Sirah E.B.A. (which stands for extended barrel aging), which was aged 12 months beyond their normal aging regime. Its black/purple color is followed by a wine with massive fruit concentration, tremendous layers of fruit, and awesome purity and depth. While still unevolved and primary, it exhibits subtle wood smoke, burning embers, and staggering levels of blackberry and cassis fruit. Fans of this varietal will love this amazing effort. It should hit its peak in a decade, and last for 20-30 years. Compared to the Biale Zinfandels, it has one of the lowest alcohol levels (14.8%) of any wine in this portfolio. This is a beautiful portfolio of wines from Robert Biale Vineyards. The Stagecoach Vineyard is a large parcel nearly 500 acres on the hillsides above Oakville.Tel. (707) 257-7555
