The 2018 Mediterra is Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (in almost equal parts with just a little more emphasis on the richness of the Syrah). This is a versatile and very well priced Tuscan red that prizes softness, the richness of its mouthfeel and the ripeness of its blackberry and cherry aromas. Those warm fruit tones cede to mild spice, light tobacco and tilled earth. The wine is bright, bold and charming in thanks to its accessible style. Drink this wine within the next three to four years. A solid 130,000 bottles were made.

The 2015 Mediterra is light and carefree, a very honest wine that should be a great value too. This is a blend of 40% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. It is fermented in oak and then goes into stainless steel. The wine's flavor profile is simple and bright and mostly focused on cherry tones with some light background spice.

The 2011 Mediterra is a blend of Syrah (40%) and 30% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. You get a blast of dried salvia and crushed white pepper at the beginning with ripe fruit and blackberry marmalade after that. Light touches of cinnamon and clove fill in the back. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2016. The 2010 Mediterra emerges from the glass with espresso, mocha, blackberries and menthol, all supported by firm yet polished tannins. This is a relatively cool, introspective vintage for the Mediterra, less immediate than is typically the case. The 2010 impresses for its energy and length.
