The 2009 Mediterra comes across as round, sensual and polished, which is probably an advantage for a wine like this that is meant to be enjoyed upon release. Sweetly perfumed notes of black cherries, smoke and licorice wrap around the palate in this polished, inviting wine. Stylistically, I have a preference for the 2010, but both the 2009 and 2010 are beautiful. Mediterra is 40% Syrah, 30% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014.
