The 2012 No 19 Sauvignon Blanc is intensely scented of asparagus, peas and green peppers with underlying gooseberry and green apple hints. Quite grassy and herbal in the light to medium-bodied mouth, it has some citrus fruit notes coming through in the lively finish. This is a good one for those who prefer their Sauvignon on the greener, more vegetal side. Drink it now through 2014. No known US importer.

Philip Shaw’s 2010 No 19 Sauvignon Blanc has intense aromas of fresh cut grass, grapefruit, lemon zest and chopped herbs. Dry, crisp and light to medium-bodied, it provides a great concentration of varietally expressive fruit and a long herbaceous finish. Drinking now, it should remain fresh to 2013.
