The Oethunes are one of the oldest fami?lies in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay, and they continue to use time-honored practices-especially viniflcation in oak, either in barrels or in larger oak vats. Their Champagnes are a consistent expression of the charm and vinosity of the Ambon?nay Grand Cru and are made in a style that ages very gracefully. The bottle labels may seem rather heavy by comparison, though they are actually quite collectible.
