Laura Marinucci runs the Pasetti wine company that was founded by Domenico Pasetti, and the pretty label of the 2013 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Testarossa is dedicated to the strong "red-headed" women in the family. Born in rocky, mountain soils and breezy slopes near the Gran Sasso peak, this Montepulciano offers lots of deep, dark fruit with blackberry, dried cherry, licorice and tar. This is a mid-weight red aged in barrique for 12 months. It would pair well with a long list of meat-filled pasta dishes. Some 70,000 bottles were released.
