Oliver Conti’s white wines begin with the 2009 Treyu, a blend of equal parts Gewurztraminer and Macabeu aged 4 months in new French oak. Exotic aromas of baking spices, pear, melon, and lychee inform the nose of this smooth-textured offering. In the glass there is almost no trace of oak with the wine’s spiciness hitting the high notes. This savory, dry, nicely proportioned white will provide pleasure over the next 2-3 years.
