The crimson-colored 2006 Sangiovese has a nose of red cherry, cassis, and damp earth. Sweet and concentrated on the palate, this tasty Sangiovese is firm and well balanced. It will drink well for another 5-7 years. Novelty Hill and Stillwater Creek Vineyard are owned by Tom Alberg. The vineyard, located on the Royal Slope of the Frenchman Hills (way off the beaten path), was planted in 2000 and is beginning to acquire a reputation for the high quality of its fruit. The 2005 Sangiovese Stillwater Creek Vineyard. Medium ruby-colored, it exhibits aromas of road tar and cherry. On the palate, the wine offers ample sweet fruit, spicy red cherry flavors, and good balance but the finish is slightly lean.
