The 1997 Chardonnay possesses unreal levels of ripeness, extract, and intensity. This massively concentrated wine oozes extract in its sweet corn, peach, mineral, and fruitcake-scented nose, extraordinarily massive flavors, exotic, eccentric personality, and 40+ seconds of palate staining extract. It is huge, but balanced and unbelievably rich. Lobster and foie gras dishes should work with such a heavyweight wine.
