The 2018 Barbaresco Casot is a fragrant and immediate wine that shows a good amount of ripeness and richness up front. This was a cool vintage overall, although the fruit ripened quickly toward the end of the growing season. There are sweet cherry aromas with spice and licorice. The wine drapes over the palate with silky and smooth intensity. The Casot vineyard is distinguished by layers of bluish tufo soil and layers of looser sand. Production is 10,000 bottles.

This vintage is made with organic practices. The Nada Giuseppe 2017 Barbaresco Casot is a bright and expressive wine with aromas that flutter out of the glass. The 2017 vintage offers more intensity, and that's what you get with this wine from Treiso. There is a soft and silky side to Casot that adds to the easy and approachable side of this wine. Any extra ripeness is well contained. The wine sees extended skin maceration, lasting up to 60 days. Some 10,000 bottles were made.

The Nada Giuseppe 2016 Barbaresco Casot does a spectacular job of presenting vintage, grape and territory, in no particular order of importance. In terms of mouthfeel, the wine is glossy and tight with tannins that appear and then disappear, folded neatly back into the fiber of the wine. The aromas are steady and clean with cassis, white cherry, blueberry, aniseed and camphor ash. In a nutshell, the integration of this wine is what sets it apart. The Casot cru in Treiso is distinguished by blue tufo and calcareous soils with layers of sand. These wines are fermented with ambient yeasts and see extended skin macerations. Some 8,500 bottles were made.
