Someone apparently forgot to tell Riccardo Cotarella that 2002 was supposed to be a poor vintage, as the wines he fashioned for Antonio and Elio Monti were among Italy’s best of the year. But 2003 is very promising as well, as the 2003 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Voluptas demonstrates with its freshness, expressive fruit, tasty mineral notes, and sheer drinking pleasure.
