A slightly murky and chemical-smelling wine with a nose of rubber band, beets, red fruits and licorice. It’s sweet and roasted in the mouth, with molasses and raisin flavors. Hard tannins and a gritty finish make it a tough run. The winery is trying to make something good and elevated, but the vintage (hot) didn’t comply.——M.S.(10/1/2009)—— 84
