A blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah, the 2006 Vin de Pays Gard Syrah/Grenache (which is marketed as the Cuvee Tradition in countries other than the USA) is aged only in tank, and is all the better for it. A dark ruby hue is accompanied by crunchy, fresh, lively, cherry and currant fruit, excellent purity, zesty acidity, and a long, heady finish. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Another reference point estate in the Costieres de Nimes, Mas des Bressades fashions fresh, lively wines meant to be consumed during their first few years of life. This is a haven for bargain hunters. All of these offerings are excellent values.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
