An easy mushroom pizza wine, the Marabino 2017 Rosso di Contrada shows medium concentration and dark ruby saturation with fruit-forward aromas of dried cherry, plum, grilled herb and potting soil. This expression of Nero d'Avola offers slightly sweet flavors and a rather straightforward approach to the palate, with one-dimensional fruit and a nice point of acidity. There is some bitterness on the close, and you also feel a slight tannic pinch.
