The 2013 Petit Chablis is fermented in stainless steel and is matured for 10 months. It has a vibrant bouquet with citrus lemon and orange zest, crisp and focused with good vigor, especially for Petit Chablis. The palate is well-balanced, although the tension on the nose is not fully transferred into the mouth, and the finish just needs a little more pizzazz. As such, it is decent Petit Chablis but it is rather unmemorable. Drink now-2016.
It was a rather perverse showing of Louis Moreau’s Chablis wines, the lower ranking crus deserving of a light round of applause while the grand crus showed less well.
