The concentrated 2005 Gigondas Terra Rosso possesses a dense ruby/purple color in addition to full-bodied aromas of licorice, black currants, crushed rocks, herbs, and spice. Dense, fleshy, impeccably pure, and well-balanced with good acidity as well as ripe tannin, it should drink well for a decade or more. The 2004 cuvees of Gigondas from Le Mas des Flauzieres were both mediocre, but these two 2005s were strong efforts. (A third 2005 offering, the Gigondas Four Danuga, did not merit a high enough score to be included in this report.)No known American importer.
