The 2005 Gigondas La Grande Reserve exhibits a dark plum/purple hue along with hints of blueberries, crushed rocks, and white flowers, medium to full body, and excellent purity, length, and texture. With an elegant personality as well as impeccable balance, it should drink nicely for 7-8 years. The 2004 cuvees of Gigondas from Le Mas des Flauzieres were both mediocre, but these two 2005s were strong efforts. (A third 2005 offering, the Gigondas Four Danuga, did not merit a high enough score to be included in this report.)No known American importer.
