The 2016 Sant'Antimo Magnus is a blend of 40% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Petit Verdot (all aged in French barrique for 18 months). This wine shows dark color saturation and density with syrupy aromas of cherry confit, black currant, spice, tar and moist chewing tobacco. There is a point of sourness on the close that gives the wine a sharp and abrupt finish. The mouthfeel is thin and lightweight.
