Notions of freshly baked bread, pear, orange oil, hazelnuts and white flowers introduce the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Sous le Puits, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and vibrant wine with a cool, fresh profile that reflects its high-altitude origins. This site, which rarely suffers in drought conditions, seems to perform better and better.

Notes of honeyed pear, white flowers, hazelnut, peach and freshly baked bread introduce the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Sous le Puits, a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny wine that's seamless and charming, with terrific depth at the core, lively acids and a chalky finish. Simultaneously structured and demonstrative, it will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Sous le Puits opens in the glass with aromas of pear, citrus oil, toasted almonds and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, open-knit and charming, it's giving and generous, with lively acids and a chalky finish.

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Sous le Puits is quite youthfully reserved, unwinding in the glass with notes of citrus oil, fresh pastry, blanched almonds, white flowers and drawn butter. Medium to full-bodied, racy and introverted, it's long and chalky but will need some bottle age to show all its cards.

The 2016 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Sous le Puits has a perfumed bouquet with plenty of citrus fruit, linseed oil, walnut and beeswax aromas that are very well defined. The palate is fresh with crisp acidity, tensile and focused, fine mineralité and a lively and brisk finish. Excellent—one of the choice picks of the whites from the domaine in 2016.
