The 2011 Blanc Seleccio is a blend of 65% Xarello with Muscat Frontignac, Sauvignon Blanc and Malvasia fermented in stainless steel. Its light nose, with hints of white peach and dried apricot, is simple but fresh. The palate is crisp on the entry, with vivacious green apple and spicy, orange peel notes furnishing the back palate. Jane Ventura is known for its sparkling cavas, but this table wine from Xarello, Muscat and the obscure Subirat Parent grape is appealing because it doesn’t bite off more than it can chew.
