In 1998, Lemencier, who uses no new oak, and destems 100% of his fruit, produced a significant effort. The 1998 Cornas's complex bouquet of earth, truffles, cassis, and underbrush is followed by a sweet, medium to full-bodied wine with low acidity, ripe tannin, and a complex, concentrated, velvety-textured finish. It should drink well for 10-12 years. No known American importer.
