Garrafeira means a wine designed for cellaring. From this small 50-acre vineyard in Arraiolos in the the Alentejo, this powerful concentrated wine is a blend of Caberenet Sauvignon and Aragones. Almost black in color., this is a hugely rich, almost impenetrable wine, with dark, tarry fruit and big solid tannins. With its dryness it is quite old fashioned, but the richness that comes from the fruit more than balances. —R.V.——R.V.(12/31/2002)—— 90
