The 2010 Don Vinico Carinena also spent 3 months in oak. Aromas of red currants and raspberries set the stage for a sweetly-fruited, smooth-textured, tasty wine that will provide pleasure for another 2-3 years. Grandes Vinos y Vinedos is a large cooperative in the DO of Carinena, a region which I visited in 2011. Once neglected, it is now producing numerous excellent value priced wines from the old vines that are being revitalized.
