The 2009 Corona del Aragon Garnacha-Carinena is a blend of 70% Garnacha and 30% Carinena aged 5 months in French oak. Spicy black fruit and earthy mineral aromas lead to an easygoing, slightly tart wine in need of a bit more concentration. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. The 2008 Corona del Aragon Garnacha (85%)-Carinena (15%) was sourced from vineyards planted in 1950. The wine was aged in French oak for 5 months. It delivers a nose of cedar, violets, black cherry, and plum. On the palate it is full-flavored, has excellent volume, and a pure, lengthy finish. Drink it over the next 5 years.
