The 2010 Don Vinico Garnacha (100%) spent 3 months in French oak. It sports a nose of cedar, smoke, mineral, and black cherry. In the glass it is fruity, forward, and easy-going with good depth and length for its humble price. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Grandes Vinos y Vinedos is a large cooperative in the DO of Carinena, a region which I visited in 2011. Once neglected, it is now producing numerous excellent value priced wines from the old vines that are being revitalized. The entry-level wines go by the Beso de Vino designation.Importer: Steve Miles Selections, Denver, CO; Tel: (303) 495-3811 for the Corona del Aragon and Beso de Vino wines; World Wineries, Tampa, FL for the Don Vinico wines.
