A small percentage, 5-10%, of the 2010 The Game Reserve Chenin Blanc was fermented in small oak barrels. It has a wonderful herbaceous, bell pepper scented bouquet that is lively and distinctive. The palate is actually more like a Sauvignon Blanc than a Chenin Blanc, with a peppery, gooseberry finish. This is a decent Chenin Blanc, though a purist might argue for more varietal expression.
