The Gianni Gagliardo 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo Da Batiè opens to a pretty ruby color and a lean appearance. The bouquet is a bit raw or wild, and this makes some sense given the youth of the wine and its emphasis on primary fruit. There is wild fruit, raspberry and some crushed limestone on the simple, easy close. There is a note of scorched earth or burnt ember buried within.
