The 2019 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard is scented of toasty yellow apple fruit with notes of flint and crushed almonds. The palate is light-bodied with a touch of anchoring texture, delicate but appealing nutty flavors and a refreshing finish.

Restrained on the nose, the 2017 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard slowly reveals acacia, toast, lemon pith, white peach and red apple scents. Medium to full-bodied, it offers good intensity of honeyed/savory fruits and tangy acidity to carry the citrus-laced finish.

My favorite among the whites, the 2016 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard from Fess Parker offers up aromas of apricot, pear, smoke and nutty new oak. On the palate, it's ripe, full-bodied, and the most coherent and best balanced, though I'd still like to see a bit more cut and intensity to balance out its lavish, lees-stirred texture.

The 2015 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard has expressive notes of ripe apricots, pink grapefruit and honeyed toast with touches of roasted almonds, orange blossoms and ginger. Medium-bodied, with a lovely creaminess to the texture, it delivers mouthfilling stone fruit and citrus layers with a lively backbone to lift the long, savory finish.

Coming from one of the top vineyards in the Central Coast, the 2013 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard is a selection of top barrels and was fermented and aged nine months in 36% new French oak. Possessing more minerality than the Ashley's, it gives up great crushed rock, white flowers and citrus blossom in a clean, crisp, delineated and classic style. It too has plenty of richness and will impress for 3-4 years. These 2013 Chardonnays from Blair are all outstanding and well worth checking out.
