The Feilers- 2006 Cabernet-Merlot 1012 (for 1012 years of -Ostarichi- - Austria - as a place name) plays its dominant Cabernet Franc cards in aromas of mulberry, walnut, licorice, and iris; combines sappy palate concentration with elegance and lift; and finishes persistently perfumed, with modest hints of vanilla and spice from barrel, and with considerable, albeit fine-grained tannin. It should be interesting to follow for at least 4-5 years. The leaner and unusually high-acid corresponding 2005 was fascinating, too. Feiler-Artinger's dry whites have generally not especially impressed me, but that is changing.Importer: Winemonger, Los Angeles, CA; www.winemonger.com
