The stunning 1990 Chardonnay-Tete de Cuvee is even better than the 1991 regular bottling. It boasts fabulous richness and depth, great presence in the mouth, and a long, well-delineated, buttery, crisp finish. Delicious now, it should last for another 3-5 years. It is unquestionably the finest Chardonnay in my peer group tastings of new releases from Oregon. Unfortunately, quantities are limited.Winemaker/proprietor Russ Raney continues to exhibit considerable talent with both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Virtually all of his wines go in the bottle unfiltered, which explains in part the rich, chewy texture and length he achieves.
