This is a bright and vibrant wine with crisp apple, lime, guava and passion fruit. There is some tomato leaf and lime essence as well. This 10,000-bottle release definitely revives and revitalizes the palate.

This is a very bright, tangy and green expression of this semi-aromatic grape with which to snack on some fried zucchini flowers. The Erste+Neue 2019 Alto Adige Sauvignon Puntay reveals lots of tonic energy and vitality, and you absolutely taste that crisp acidity on the close. The bouquet offers green apple, passion fruit and a hint of spicy tomato leaf. Some 10,000 bottles were made.

The Erste+Neue 2018 Alto Adige Sauvignon Puntay offers a classic display of aromas with tropical fruit, tangy citrus, passion fruit and wild herb. This is a refreshing and lean white wine with a very pretty bouquet that is faithful to the Sauvignon Blanc variety. The wine is tight and crisp in terms of mouthfeel. The fruit is cold soaked on the skins for 18 hours, a process that imparts all those vivid aromas. It is fermented and aged (for seven months) in large oak casks. Some 8,000 bottles were made.

The 2017 Alto Adige Sauvignon Puntay is a great, easy-drinking and fresh expression for salads and spicy Asian food. It's a well-balanced and fresh expression with lots of floral definition. It's immediate but crisp and easy. Three-fourths of the wine goes into large oak casks for six months, and the rest is pumped into stainless steel. Some 6,000 bottles were made.

The 2014 Alto Adige Sauvignon Puntay is a heavier and denser expression of this fragrant white grape. The wine has moved forward on its evolutionary track these past three years since the harvest. Instead of bright and tonic notes, it reveals aromas of preserved lemon, exotic fruit and crushed oyster shell. That mineral note is very evident. This vintage is slightly flatter and more subdued compared to its predecessors. This Sauvignon ages in tonneaux and large oak casks for seven months. Only 6,000 bottles are made.
