From 40- to 50-year-old vines on the Buntsandstein soils of Münchweier (Ortenau/Baden), Enderle & Moll's 2013 Pinot Noir Buntsandstein displays a very fine and beautifully aromatic bouquet of great finesse and purity. Fresh and intense Pinot aromas, and earthy as well as floral flavors are perfectly interwoven; this leads to a silky textured, fresh, finesse-full and elegant palate with a vibrant, tension-filled, dry and very mineral finish. The purity and freshness of the Buntsandstein reminds me of the Chambolle-Musignys from Ghislaine Barthod, although this is a very associative finding, since I have never tasted wines from both producers, side by side.
