The 2018 Single Site Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful and concentrated, a la the near-perfect growing conditions of the 2018 season. It was warm without major heat spikes or extended hot periods, sun without stress, with abundant marri blossoms to occupy the silvereyes and very little to no disease pressure. The wines from this year are special—it is evident in the glass. This has notes of spicy cassis, roasted beetroot, raspberry, licorice, star anise/clove, nutmeg, kelp, pomegranate molasses and blood plums. There is dark chocolate and cocoa, too. Matured for 18 months in French oak barriques, it will live an age. There is a lovely, ductile splay of tannin through the finish. This will continue to grow in stature and grace over time. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
