The 2015 Monogram Pinot Noir aged 18 months in 90% new French oak. Pale to medium ruby, it takes time to open to notes of toasted coconut, pipe tobacco, bergamot, oolong tea leaves, laurel and underbrush over pure blackberries, black currants and black cherries plus notes of blue fruits, cured meats and pepper. Medium-bodied, silky and intense, it blossoms in the mouth with oodles of spices, flowers, fruits and earth flavors, expertly framed by pixelated tannins and seamless acidity, finishing very long and flavorful. This merits another year or two in bottle.

Notes of mocha and cedar stand out on the nose with an undercurrent of ripe black cherries and warm cranberries. The palate is full bodied with refreshing acid and a medium level of velvety tannins, finishing long.

Notes of cedar, toast and coffee beans stand out over red plums and black cherries. Full bodied, rich and concentrated, it has medium-firm rounded tannins and enough refreshing acid to provide lift throughout the long finish.

The nose has pronounced aromas of kirsch, raspberry preserves and anise over mocha and spice box. The full bodied palate is richly fruited with just enough acid and medium-firm grainy tannins, finishing long.
