Christian Mocci left his native Corsica and a career in teaching to devote himself to this small estate in the Coteaux de Languedoc appellation. The wines he pro?duces there testify to his discerning palate and fascination with Grand Vin, all summed up in two words: aromatic charm. The Cuvee Venus is devastatingly seductive and sure to be the downfall of mere mortals like us. The Cinarca, also made from the syrah and grenache, and the Ultreia, which includes some mourvsdre, both display those refined tannins typical of modern?style Languedoc wines. These are intensely pleasurable wines, intended for immediate enjoyment but equally capable of impres?sive aging.
