From lieu-dit Le Poisot, which borders Volnay and touches the D 974, Boillot's 2018 Pommard Village offers up notions of raspberries and cassis, as well as hints of peonies and dried flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, built around fine and powdery tannins that gently assert themselves on the finish.

There are two-and-a-half barrels of the 2017 Pommard Village, an attractive wine that displays scents of red plums, berries, raw cocoa and candied peel, framed by a deft touch of cedary wood. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and tangy, with melting tannins and a pure finish.

The 2016 Pommard Village has a slightly earthy, loamy bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. It feels very natural. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, good body, not exactly the most elegant Pommard on the block but it has a decent, gutsy finish that should gain more refinement by the time of bottling. One barrel only.

The 2015 Pommard Village has a proper Pommard bouquet, a bit aloof at first, but fresh and well defined with tertiary black fruit and just a touch of dried herb. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin, tightly packed red berry fruit laced with white pepper and sea salt, the finish linear and yet is feels sustained in the mouth. This is well-crafted, quintessential Pommard that is punching well above its weight.

The 2014 Pommard Villages comes from a single parcel of vines. It has a slightly foursquare and conservative bouquet, although one can appreciate the delineation in place. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, a little "butch" at the moment, though it should gain more corpulence during the remainder of its élevage.
