The 2018 Mercurey Le Chapitre has once again turned out very nicely, offering up a brooding bouquet of cassis, black cherries and plums, framed by a deft touch of oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with a deep core of fruit, lively acids and powdery tannins, it's the most immediate of Lorenzon's reds.

A wine that would embarrass most of the appellation's premiers crus, the 2016 Mercurey Le Chapitre offers up a generous bouquet of crushed red cherries, cassis and spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and succulent, with fine-grained tannins, a lovely core of fruit and a pure, transparent profile, concluding with light grip.
