Much lighter, more simple and essentially one-dimensional, the 2009 Vacqueyras Fruit Sauvage is made from a similar blend, but this shallow effort is best drunk over the next several years. It came across more like a lighter-styled Beaujolais than a Vacqueyras. This producer turns out reasonably priced wines and his three 2009 Vacqueyras cuvees revealed somewhat mixed results.
