A step up in quality over the classic cuvee, the 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Etienne Gonnet Blanc shows a touch of barrique in its caramelized peach, honeycomb and buttered apple-like aromas and flavors. Possessing medium-bodied richness, juicy acidity and plenty of texture, it will be better in six to 12 months and evolve nicely for 5-6 years. It’s a terrific white that has tons to love.

In total contrast, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Etienne Gonnet blanc exhibits exuberant tropical fruit, marmalade, honeysuckle, and hints of white peach and apricot. The 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Etienne Gonnet blanc reveals honey, peach, and pear characteristics, as well as citrus oil and surprising minerality.
