The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Maltroie has a tightly wound, Zen-like bouquet with Granny Smith apples and flint aromas, more Puligny than Chassagne-like in style. The palate is fresh and crisp with a keen line of acidity, although I feel it needs to develop more weight for a Premier Cru on the slightly abrupt finish.
