Tasted from bottle, the 2020 Marsannay Les Vaudenelles reveals aromas of sweet cherries, raspberries and peonies, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and lively palate. Unusually concentrated and structured by the standards of this charming, immediate cuvée, it will reward a little patience.

The 2015 Marsannay les Vaudenelles offers crisp redcurrant and cranberry scents on the nose, nicely defined if still seeking a little harmony. It just needs more time to knit together. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh red cherry and strawberry pastilles, leading to a fine saline finish. Enjoy after 12-18 months in bottle.

The 2014 Marsannay les Vaudenelles has such a pretty blueberry and violet-scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with a rather tinny entry. It has a moderate depth and a rather attenuated finish that needs more substance. I wonder how representative this is.

The 2013 Marsannay les Vaudenelles has a very "natural" bouquet with brambly red fruit - slightly tertiary in style. The palate is medium-bodied with light, slightly stringy tannins but an easygoing finish that slips down the throat. Very fine, but I feel that it is not in the same class as the “Longeroies” or the “en la Rue de Vergy."
