It's floral and pear scented, with pineapple as well, imparting ample complexity, while the medium to full-bodied palate is ripe yet focused, with bright beams of citrus, brine and chalk that linger on the finish. Full-bodied, ripe and round, it offers attractive notes of honeyed pineapple, cinnamon, clove and vanilla, even a hint of sweet corn, before fading on the finish.

A blend of 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne, the 2016 Crozes Hermitage les Terres Blanches is sourced from the region around Larnage, known for its white soils. This medium to full-bodied white is rich in the mouth, yet briny, subtly bitter and balanced, with notes of fennel and honey on the finish. It should drink well for a few years.

The 2015 Crozes Hermitage les Terres Blanches (70/30 Marsanne and Roussanne aged mostly in barrel) has classy white peach, pineapple and tropical notes in a fresh, yet nicely textured style. It lacks the clarity and purity of the top whites, but is good.
